Charchika Temple<\/a> is one of the oldest temples in Cuttack, Odisha. The presiding deity is Chamunda, the eight-armed goddess also known as Maa Charchika Devi. Madhabananda Temple or Madhabananda Math is known for specially curing cows and is dedicated to Mahapurush Madhabananda. The temple was built by the Eastern Ganga Dynasty in the 13th century. The Vimana is of Rekha Deula, the Jagamohana of Pidha Deula, and the Nata Mandapa, which is flat-roofed and recently restored by the Archaeological Survey of India. A rare image of Durga is found, she is considered as Madhava’s sister. The walls of Jagamohana and Nata Mandapa feature images of Vishnu’s Dasa-Avatar.
