One of Mizoram’s protected wildlife sanctuaries is Lengteng Wildlife Sanctuary. The second-highest peak in Mizoram is here, and alpine woods encircle the entire region. Since the area was created in 1999 for the protection and conservation of birds, uncommon species of birds can be seen here. Some recognised birds live in the wildlife reserve, such as the grey-rumped swift, white-naped yuhina, grey sibia, and grey peacock.
