Tiracol Fort<\/a> which is also known as Terekhol Fort is located at the southernmost part of Goa. The edifice was put up in the 17th century by Maharaja Khem Sawant Bhonsle who was the ruler of Sawantwadi. Rachol Fort which is situated further inland was an important structure during the Portuguese domination of Goa.
