Haryana is known for its diverse flora and fauna. The state has many areas of ecological significance and the Bhindawas Wildlife Sanctuary is one of them. This sanctuary was recognised as a bird sanctuary by the government of India in 2009. It is also considered a Ramsar Wetland site along with the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary in Haryana. One can find over 250 species of birds at the Bhindawas Wildlife Sanctuary. Some popular birds sighted here include the Black-Bellied Tern, the Egyptian Vulture and the Steppe Eagle.
