The Laxman Temple is one of the oldest Vaishnavite brick temples in India. Erected by Queen Vasata to commemorate the memory of her husband, it features perfect Nagara and Dravidian architectural styles with a shikhara (an ornate tower) housing carvings of Hindu Gods. One of the most striking parts of the temple is the ornamental doorway, designed with subtle details of Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi, and other mythological figures. Inside the sanctum sanctorum, there is an idol of Lord Vishnu kept at the centre of the shrine.
